FREE garden talks April to October 2017

Join us for Saturdays in the Garden,  free garden talks the first Saturdays of the month followed by a Q&A session.  Experienced Master Gardeners will be on hand to share their knowledge not only of the veggie garden but to answer questions concerning perennial and ornamental gardens too.  Printable flyer: 

Place: Loudoun County Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden, Ida Lee Park, Leesburg (located across from the pool, parking lot is on the right after barn).

Time: 10AM to Noon*

Sessions include:

April x – Get started on a great vegetable garden by learning preparation and planting of veggie garden beds.

May x – Transitioning from a spring to summer vegetable garden with topics on planting summer vegetables.

June x – Keep your garden growing strong!  Learn vegetable garden maintenance and how to manage problems.

July x – Compost happens.  Learn how to make your own compost, vermiculture and compost tea.

August x – Fall gardens can be great!  This talk centers on planning for a fall vegetable garden.

September x –  Essential fall lawn care.  Come out and learn why fall is the best time to care for your lawn and repair summer damage.  Includes mowing, seeding, fertilizing and more.

October x –  Fall essentials for the vegetable garden. Fall preparations include not only cleaning up this season’s garden but also allow you to get a head start on next season.
